Half Work Day
I got to sleep in today for once, it was wonderful. Molly slept in too, everyone had scones for breakfast except mom because she still had to go to work today. It was awesome having a fun house of family. I got out toys and stuffed animals for Evan to play with because he was coming to my house for a few hours. Emily arrived with the girls in the van, they were all going to get their nails done. Evan was so excited to see Grandmoo, Aunt Susan & Molly. Moo & Susan went out food shopping, Evan played with me while Molly was getting ready.

He had a great time playing with all the things in his treasure box from Grandmoo, it was filled with all kinds of stuff. A measuring tape that has my Pop Pop's initials on it, a compass key chain, a flashlight with a key chain, a dinosaur & a fish charm (from a bracelet of mine that I didn't need anymore), a die, a key chain with lots of funky charms, a silver confetti heart, a beach tag, 2 smooth polished stones and a penny. He just couldn't wait to show everyone what was in the treasure box, it was so cute.

By the time Emily came to pick up Evan, he'd already eaten chickies (chicken nuggets) for lunch with fruit & apple juice. Emily still had the things between her toes, Victoria got her toenails & fingers nails neon green while Sophia had her nails done in dark pink. Sophia was feeling much better, but not fully herself.

Evening with the Family
Susan arrived at the house shortly after I did, we saved her some Shepherd's pie that Grandmoo made. It was delicious, I really needed that after a long day of one of the longest work weeks yet. I cleaned up my room so Molly would have room for all her stuff. I planned to stay in Grandmoo's room over night. I didn't want to wake Molly up early if she slept on the couch. Aunt Susan stayed in the guest bedroom because Grandmoo was moved into her own part of the house, the edition.

It was great to talk with Aunt Susan and listen to what has been happening with her and work. She always has the best stories, she makes e laugh so hard I swear I almost pee my pants. She just gets all the worst kids, they can't do the simplest things. It's funny because she has the patients to deal with them, more so then the other teachers. She makes great voices and always puts on a good show, it's no wonder Mom laughs hysterically when Susan calls.

Molly arrived after a long while, her flight got delayed and then she had to get dinner right away because she was starrving. She hadn't eaten anything since 1pm, I c an understand being hungry after a long flight. But I was so anxious to see her and have the whole family safe at home. She brought only the second biggest suitcase, I swear she packs more than anyone I know, maybe even a celebrity.

Molly slept on my loft bed, I had put on matching Power Puff Girl sheets, cleared out my outlets so she could keep all her electronics charged. Unfortunately, we didn't have internet, which was annoying but not awful. Molly showed everyone a lot of the pictures she's taken. I love the way she can see something in a picture and turn in into art. She's amazing!

I was surprised Grandmoo stayed awake until after 10pm, it was just too exciting to go to bed yet. I stayed up late too, when I went to bed Grandmoo was still up reading her book. I made the bed earlier with Moo, I brought down my yellow blanket, pink hoodie & Padfoot the Bull Terrier stuffed animal that Diana gave me.

Day at Home for Sophia the Flower Girl
When I got to work Victoria was on the couch, Emily didn't want anyone else getting sick. I helped her get breakfast and ready for school. Evan felt better enough to sleep through Victoria getting ready for school loudly & Emily getting ready for work. He didn't even hear the blow dryer. I made him cereal for breakfast when he woke up, he looked much better. He took his medicine without complaining, I filled his sippie cup with apple juice & had him rinse the medicine down after he finished the syringe of the pink stuff.

Sofie stayed home today, there's this unwritten rule where if a child goes home sick they have to be cleared for 24 hours of the sickness. So Sofie was feeling much better, but Emily just wanted to make sure. It was basically a day for us to play together, we did our toe nails. It was fun just talking to Sofie and giving her all the attention she needed whether she wanted it or not. That's more like Victoria to want attention, but I didn't want her to think I cared about her less because she was sick. I made her toast for breakfast and lunch, that made her feel much better. The doctor said that Sofie didn't have the flu or Strep Throat like Uncle Nate did, but she has bronchitis. She was on so much medicine, her regular allergy stuff, the pink icky anti-biotic & taking 2 puffs of her inhaler every 4 hours. It was really tough to watch her suffer to breathe.

Sofie spent most of the day in her room, I played with Evan in his bedroom and the living room. We watched TV too and played games. Emily picked up Sofie and Evan early to take them to the doctors, I called Glenside Elementary School to let Victoria know that she would be coming home on the bus her mom would be there in to get her.

My Poor Sick Sofie
I arrived at the normal time, 7:15am for work. I ate breakfast with the girls and helped them get ready for school. Once the girls were on the bus and off to school Evan and I watched tv while he ate cereal for breakfast. We played blokus and put puzzles together while watching cartoons on Playhouse Disney & Nick Jr. Around 2pm is I got a call from Emily to say that Sophia had a stomach ache and was coming home with Jess. She felt like she was going to throw up, but she never did. But you really can't be too careful with a sick kid.

Evan played while I cleaned up the girls bedroom, I took all the stuffed animals off & blankets too. The last thing anyone wanted to do was try and wash Dippy, Sofie's stuffed pig or her manky (baby blanket). Jess called when she was downstairs, I walked Sofie up and got her settled in bed. I brought her apple juice, goldfish & water. I checked up on her more often than every hour. Evan agreed to stay out of the bedroom b/c he was tired of having to wash his hands, ha ha. My trick worked of course, he doesn't like washing his hands.

I went downstairs at a little after 4pm to let Victoria into the apartment. She was relieved to know that Sofie was already home and not missing. I guess the school doesn't let the sibling know if the other has gone home sick or gotten picked up. They only let one of my girls know the other is gone if I call & tell them to.

Anyway, Victoria & Evan had snack in the kitchen while watching TV. Victoria didn't need my help with her homework, which is a relief b/c I can't always understand the math she has to do. I stayed in the bedroom with Sofie for a while to keep her company. Ian came to take me home while Emily stayed home with the kids. Then he was headed back to the apartment to take Victoria to a play, Sofie would have gone if she wasn't sick. But she was so sick that she didn't care what was happening without her.
When Sofie is sick, she's really sick like me. You just lay around in bed b/c it takes too much energy to move & the world could end and it wouldn't matter.

When I got home I told mom, Nick & Grandmoo about my Sofie & we were all going to pray for her to get better. So far the week has just been one disaster after another. First, it was the pink eye scare & now this stomach ache that Sofie's got. What next?

False Alarm
I was relieved to know that Evan didn't have Pink Eye, but a nasty ear infection. It was so bad that the infection was draining from his eyes & disguised itself as Pink Eye. Evan was now on a pink anit-biotic to get rid of the ear infection & pink bubble gum flavored children's Tylenol. All of which has red food coloring in it, they make him hyper and out of control. So he would be taking both pink medicines for at least 2 days. I set an alarm for every 4 hours to give him more Tylenol tablets, he didn't mind eating them as much as I though he would.

Evan and I played some games and watched TV. He was in a much better mood now that we knew what was wrong with him. I reminded him most of the day to keep his hands off his ears or else they would hurt more. He was also very tired and napped by accident. He was just worn out from all the fuss. Grandmoo & Mom were glad to know that Evan would be feeling much better by the wedding. Yea for not having a sick little bitty one.

Pink Eye Scare
I was shocked when Emily told me that Evan was up most of the night crying, she was thinking that it was pink eye because his eyes were watery & itchy. Emily had most of the house cleaned & sprayed with Lysol by the time the girls got up. I let them know what was going on when they finished getting ready for school. Since it seemed like pink eye at that point, the girls took turns spraying different areas of their bedroom with Lysol to kill the germs. I kept the spray on handy with me all day & washed my hands often.

Evan laid around and watched TV most of the day, we hardly played which is unusual for us. He was good even though he felt horrible. I called mom to let her know so she could pray for us. Almost as soon as Emily told me about Evan having pink eye, my eyes started to water up and itch. I probably washed my face more than 10 times during the day. It was miserable. I spent most of the time on the computer while Evan watched TV.

Emily came home at 1pm to take Evan to the doctors because we didn't want a contagious ring bearer. Emliy drove me down the block & I walked the rest of the way to wait for the bus. I told Grandmoo all about it when I got home, it was awful.

Mice
  I think mice
Are rather nice,
Their tales are long,
Their faces small,
Thier haven't any
Chins at all.
Their ears are pink,
Their teeth are white,
They run about
The house at night.
They nibble things
They shouldn't touch
And no one seems
To like them much.
But I think mice
Are nice.

Arithmetic
  Arithmetic is where numbers fly
like pigeons around your head.
Arithmetic tells you how many you lose or win
if you know how many you had
before you lost or won.
Arithmetic is seven eleven all good children
go to heaven-- or five six bundle of sticks.
Arithmetic is numbers you squeeze from your
head to your hand to your pencil to your paper
till you get the right answer....
If you have two animal crackers, one good and one bad,
and you eat one striped zebra
with streaks all over him eats the other,
how many will you have
if somebody offers you five six seven and you say
No no no and say Nay nay nay
and you say Nix nix nix?
If you ask your mother for one fried egg
for breakfast and she gives you
two fried eggs and you eat
both of them, who is better in Arithmetic,
you or your mother?

When I think of Arithmetic, I call it Math or Mathematics. Math makes me think of Lesley and how good she is at it. She is a great arithmetic teacher and she should be since that is her major at UVA.
